Hello KK & NII Team,

Congrats for this New thing - Incident Response and Digital Forensics e-zine.

I went through the Case Study - Game One and other articles too.

I would like to express my some of the views regarding Digital/ Net Forensics with Corporate World....
Whenever We say about Legal things and Laws, There is one more Important thing is Evidence. But to make the Evidence useful and to use against the Criminal, We should catch that criminal. Wht I have seen/ observed through different articles on Internet is that Digital Forensics or evidence is being used only for analysing the Attack/ Threat. If the attacker is out of Local Place or Country, It is very difficult to make Legal case against him. That time, we can only do Incident handling, We can do shunning the IPs for coming again to our network, But can not use those Evidences against the attacker.
Even IT Act is also only for Local Cyber Criminials (if they got caught).
There is one more problem with Corporate Companies which having their own Information Security Teams. The problem is "They find being attacked or hacked, The Incident Response Team of the firm handles the issue. They have evidence also, they traces the attacker also, and fortunately- unfortunately that Attacker is local person or might be an ex-employee only.. But Firm doesnt want to go to Law Enforcement, Just because they could find themselves attack and stop it before being more hazardous. But Attacker is Still Live on the Open Web of Computers - Internet."

Please correct me if somewhere I am wrong ....!!!

Thanks,
Yogi
